We would also like to thank our clients and interested members of the public who have recently visited our website and for their kind comments and compliments, as this continues to aid future development of the site. Archaeological Assessment - Bideford An archaeological assessment in advance of development is ongoing with the proposed site lying within a known area of archaeological interest due to its association with Bideford’s Culm Mining Industry, which may have originated during the Medieval period. The site is also of interest due to the palaeoenvironmental evidence of hedge banks within this area. Prehistoric enclosures, evidence of farming and habitation activity probably dating from the Bronze or Iron Age are recorded in the area with a small quality of lithic material. The site is also of interest with Medieval enclosures and land use being identified as part of the Historic Landscape Characterisation Project. To Find Out More - Featured Project Event Awards 2008
