Founded in March 1999 by Managing Director Rob Butler, Archaeology and Heritage Management Consultancy has focused its practice on providing a professional quality driven, but cost effective archaeological service to meet the needs of our clients and the profession. Working as a contractual and consultancy unit from our offices in Devon, we provide a full and comprehensive range of archaeological services to our clients in the southwest (Cornwall, Scilly and Channel Islands, Devon, Dorset and Somerset). We have also been contracted to undertake archaeological work outside of our core area and have undertaken projects in Wiltshire, Buckinghamshire, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire and Wales. The service is available to be contracted internationally working within the cultural heritage and resource management environment.

Archaeology and Heritage is a customer-focused company, offering a professional and personalised service to each client based on an in-depth understanding of their objectives and requirements. This enables our company to successfully manage heritage issues within development schemes, irrespective of their scale or nature.

The companies clients range from small businesses to large international companies, individuals to local and statutory bodies and a wide variety of archaeological and multi-disciplinary professionals and government organisations.

We provide lectures to academic, professional, and non-professional audiences, as well as organising historical, costumed interpretation and archaeological events for local authorities, museums, historic properties and other clients through our sister company Historical Promotions and Event Management. Our work also involves undertaking archaeological and costumed interpretation sessions at schools and higher educational institutions through our Heritage Education Service. In addition, we work within the film and television industry providing historical extras, locations and props through our film division Heritage Film Services.

Archaeology and Heritage with its sister companies, is the only organisation in the UK which is able to provide such a wide and multi-disciplinary service to its clients within the Cultural Heritage, Education, Tourism and Leisure industries. We also work internationally, as consultants and contractually to provide a range of services and products to our clients in managing and developing their cultural heritage industries worldwide.
